Three plug-in hybrid power units available

With two power units available (250hp and a 360hp 4-wheel drive) our E-TENSE models have CO₂ emissions ranging from 0 to 49g/km and an electric-only range estimated to be between 40 and 50km on the WLTP¹ cycle.

Charge your battery by braking

When you decelerate, kinetic energy from the wheels is converted into electricity. You can increase the range from your battery by up to 15%.

Program how to use electric mode

This lets you save energy so you can do the last kilometres of your journey in 100% electric Zero Emissions mode. It gives you access to towns, even when traffic is restricted.

Zero Emissions Mode

The Zero Emissions Mode, selected by default, lets you do most of your commuting without consuming fuel.

Hybrid Mode

Designed to automatically manage energy while driving with 100% electric, 100% petrol or combining the two if the situation calls for it, occupants won’t notice it switching and Hybrid Mode combines efficiency with versatility.

Sport Mode

In Sport Mode, you’ll enjoy the maximum performance potential of DS 9 with adjusted mapping for the accelerator pedal, gearbox, steering and suspension response. You’ll appreciate dynamic driving pleasure in complete safety.

Comfort mode

This mode, available on internal combustion and E-TENSE power units, activates DS ACTIVE SCAN SUSPENSION. It continuously makes the suspension more firm or more supple to guarantee the best possible comfort.


Silent, comfortable driving

Enjoy a peaceful and silent drive when setting off in your car in Zero Emission mode. On E-TENSE models, silence inside is boosted by laminated glass, fitted as standard.

Drive with complete freedom

Our plug-in hybrids guarantee complete flexibility when driving in town, even in traffic congestion. On the windscreen of our E-TENSE models, a cyan LED confirms electric mode is activated for even more comfort.

Range and charging

Run in zero emissions mode

When used in electric mode, our E-TENSE models have a range of up to 50km (WLTP¹ cycle). A perfect distance to help with your daily journeys around town.


Among the factors that have the most impact on the range of your plug-in hybrid car, speed is the most important. Maintaining a constant and moderate speed will enable you to optimise the range of your car.

Driving style and elevation

Your plug-in hybrid car is particularly sensitive to driving and exterior relief. Choose Eco mode (among the four driving modes), practicing eco driving or using regenerative braking are solutions for saving energy by up to 15%.

Temperature control and heating

In case of extreme heat or minus temperatures, the battery must supply the necessary energy to cool or heat the cockpit, using up to 35% more energy in winter. It is therefore preferable to pre-condition (warm or cool) your plug-in hybrid while it is still plugged into the charging point.

¹ Figures shown for fuel consumption, CO₂ emissions and range conform to the WLTP test procedure on which new vehicles have been approved since 1st September 2018. The WLTP test replaces the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) which was the testing protocol used previously. With more realistic testing conditions, fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions measured to WLTP protocols are, in many cases, higher than those measured according to the NEDC procedure.
