DS Automobiles Ireland were delighted to return as Official Festival Sponsor of the Irish Film Institute’s annual IFI French Film Festival.
In its landmark 25th year, the flagship festival retureds from Wednesday, November 13th to Sunday, November 24th, showcasing the finest in contemporary French cinema to Irish audiences. This marks our third year proudly supporting this celebrated cultural event.
Festival highlights included: Being Maria, which explores Maria Schneider’s experience making Bertolucci’s controversial Last Tango in Paris with Marlon Brando (played here by Matt Dillon); the thrilling and surprising The Successor, from Xavier Legrand, director of Custody; and the topical and deeply moving Souleymane’s Story. Renowned director Stéphane Brizé presented his new romantic drama, Out of Season, with an audience Q&A, and delved into his career in a masterclass event hosted by Paul Whitington.
The Festival kicked off in suitable style with a signature Opening Night Gala, where the stars of our DS Automobiles Brand Film "This is Pure Luxury", a DS 7 and a classic DS Pallas, were on display for our esteemed guests.
