DS Automobiles Ireland were privileged to return as Official Car Sponsor of the DP World Tour Irish Challenge 2024.
Held from August 1st - 4th at Kildare's prestigious K Club, the Irish Challenge once again proved to be a remarkable event on the Challenge Tour calendar. The tournament drew considerable attention not just for its challenging course, the Palmer South, but also for the stunning backdrop of the K Club, a place steeped in golfing history.
The K Club, known for hosting the 2026 Ryder Cup, provided a perfect setting for the field of International players with its lush fairways, fast greens, and scenic views along the River Liffey. The Irish summer conditions offered a mix of sunshine and showers, adding an extra layer of difficulty for the players.
This year's Irish Challenge was particularly competitive, with a field of talented golfers from around the world vying for crucial points in their bid to secure a European Tour card. The players navigated the Arnold Palmer-designed course with varying levels of success, but it was the final day's drama that truly captured the spirit of the event.
Sunday's final day leaderboard saw frequent changes throughout the day. Last year's winner Brandon Robinson-Thompson was once again within striking distance of the title heading into the final day. However, it was a display of composure and skill under pressure from Sweden's Joakim Lagergren that saw our winner emerge, clinching the trophy by a narrow margin with a stunning eagle on his final hole to seal a one-stroke victory.
