Maximilian Günther joins DS Penske alongside Jean-Éric Vergne
After a very good 3rd place in season 10, DS Automobiles and PENSKE AUTOSPORT have announced the arrival of German driver Maximilian Günther to the DS PENSKE team.
Regularly among the hosts of Formula E races since 2018, Maximilian Günther has – at only 27 years old – a very fine track record in the electric series. Since season 5: 83 races, 10 podiums, 5 wins and 2 pole positions.
Maximilian Günther will team up with Jean-Éric Vergne, the only two-time FE champion, and will be keen to defend the colours of his new team.
With this new Franco-German duo, DS Automobile and PENSKE AUTOSPORT aim to be among the leaders of Season 11 and to conquer numerous podiums.
"We are delighted to welcome Maximilian Günther to our team! He is an ambitious and combative driver who will be able to take podiums and bring us many points. I am sure that the duo with Jean-Éric will be very effective and that we will be able to compete with last season's winners and do even better in season 11 which is about to start."
Eugenio Franzetti, Director of DS Performance
"I am very happy to join DS PENSKE. They are a key team in the league with a strong vision. We share the same ambitions and want to be one of the leaders in Formula E. Representing DS Performance, a manufacturer that has already won several championships, is a real privilege. I'm also proud to be the teammate of a champion like JEV, it's something I'm really looking forward to. And the very special point for me is that I'm going to ride again for Jay's team that got me into the championship when I was 20 years old. I am proud to be part of this team and already excited about what we will build together in the future."
