With a wealth of experience from our participation in Formula E and success with two double championship titles, the DS PERFORMANCE engineers have built technology into DS 7’s E-TENSE power unit that’s straight from motor racing, such a regenerative braking.
With the E-TENSE 4×4 360 power unit, DS 7 uses a special drivetrain, suspension and rear axle, developed with the expertise of DS PERFORMANCE engineers.
The power of a 4-wheel drive transmission
When SPORT mode is activated, the combined force of two electric motors and a petrol engine give DS 7 unbelievable power, enabling it to produce 360 horsepower and 520Nm of torque, all while maintaining great flexibility for driving.
E-TENSE Technology
Drive with complete freedom
Regenerative Braking
With a simple pulse on your gear lever, turn the kinetic energy generated when you decelerate and brake into electricity, thereby extending the electric range of your DS 7. Even if you run out of battery, you can continue to use regenerative braking to improve your fuel consumption.
E-SAVE function
Programme E-SAVE to store energy for driving in 100% electric mode over the last 15 or 30 kilometres of your journey. This means you can use the petrol engine whilst driving on the motorway and conserve battery for driving around the town, even in areas where access is restricted for certain types of vehicle (such as low-emission zones).
Drive Modes
Our E-TENSE models have several drive modes:
Zero Emissions mode, activated by default, is ideal for travelling in urban areas. You can travel up to 69 kilometres in combined cycle (AER combined) with the E-TENSE 4×4 300 version, without consuming a drop of petrol. Absolute silence on board, exceptional responsiveness: experience new sensations.
HYBRID mode, enables you to seamlessly switch between using electric power and the internal combustion engine. As useful around town as on the motorway, it delivers optimal use of electrical energy.
Activate SPORT mode to unleash the potential of your DS 7 E-TENSE. The internal combustion engine will deliver all its power, assisted by the electric motors. Accelerate and repeat: you’ll reach the peak of driver enjoyment.
Only available on the E-TENSE 4×4 300 and E-TENSE 4×4 360 versions, the 4WD mode will improve drivability on the road or over difficult terrain. The power of the internal combustion engine and electric motors is evenly distributed across all four wheels, greatly improving grip whether the road you’re on is wet, muddy, snowy or winding.

Emissions and consumption
With three power units available from 225 horsepower to 4-wheel drive versions with 300 and 360 horsepower, our E-TENSE models have emissions of up to 40g/km CO₂ (subject to homologation).

There for your safety, the intelligent DS PIXEL LED VISION 3.0 headlights adapt to your surroundings by adjusting the lighting according to exterior conditions (town, country, weather etc…) and directing light towards bends to improve visibility in corners.
Inside DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 360, enjoy a unique audio experience by taking advantage of its FOCAL Electra® Sound System.
